Jordan Howse is on the verge of claiming his second-ever Pro Late Model Championship and being the first 2x PLM Track Champion, as the GD Coates Pro Late Models wrap up their regular season tomorrow at Sunset Speedway. Leading the standings by an impressive 45-point margin, Howse is poised to finish the season on top.

After a dominant season, Howse has emerged as one of the most talked-about Pro Late Model drivers in Ontario. He has secured 4 victories and 2 podium finishes throughout the season, establishing himself as a top contender. Despite an on-track incident two weeks ago, Howse showcased resilience by finishing 9th, keeping his championship hopes alive.

“This season has been great,” notes Howse. “We’ve hit on something, and we’ve had the speed all year. It’s unfortunate that our run the last time out was derailed but it doesn’t take away from all our team has accomplished this season.”

Howse’s crowning achievement so far this year came with a victory in the prestigious ‘Junior Hanley Classic’, one of the marquee races of the season. Reflecting on his team’s journey, Howse expressed gratitude for the hard work and dedication that have fueled their success:

“Our team has worked hard all year – it always feels good to pick up the win, and we hope to end our regular season in victory lane,” said Howse. “Brian Mac and Ron come and wrench on this car every weekend, and I can’t thank them enough for what they do. We’re a family-owned team – just me and my dad working on the car, and my mom always makes sure everyone is taken care of and fed. My girlfriend Alex, my spotter Tracy, and my sponsors – winning this championship would mean a lot to all of us.”

Howse kicked off the season with a win on opening night and has consistently delivered strong performances throughout the year. "We’ve been able to showcase what we can do and run up front week in and week out," he added.

As Howse looks ahead to Saturday’s race, he knows that the ultimate prize is within reach. “Being able to add another Pro Late Model Championship to my racing career and be the first ever 2x Pro Late [Model] Champion at Sunset is something special,” he said. “Growing up, watching my dad race, it’s all I’ve wanted to do - win and follow in his steps.”

Victory on the track this weekend would be the perfect conclusion to a stellar season for the driver of the No. 8 PLM and his team. “No matter what happens this weekend, I’m proud of our team and the effort we put in this year,” Howse continues. “I’m just really looking forward to getting back on track and doing what I love”.

The 'Night of Champions' promises to be an exciting and pivotal race as Howse eyes the title that has been the focus of his season-long campaign. Racing gets underway at this Saturday afternoon at Sunset Speedway beginning at 3:00pm.

Jordan Howse’s 2024 Pro Late Model campaign has been proudly supported by BW Towing, MacMaster Buick GMC, BBTS, Cooper Equipment Rentals, Blue Star Construction, Ideal Supply NAPA Autoparts, Foodland Hillsburgh, Paul Howse and Associates, Fierce Wraps and Carano Equipment.
