May 4th, 2024 will be the start of race season for the Sheridan-Sherba Racing team where they will compete in the 100 lap feature event, The Steve Slaughter Classic, at Sunset Speedway in Innisfil Ontario, Canada.
Sheridan has released his schedule for the year on his social media sharing that he intends to compete full time in the APC United Racing Series tour registering 9 events across the province, along with 3 additional invitational events.
Winning the 2023 season opener at Sunset Speedway has to allot some confidence for the young racer, “We feel we’ve done the best we can to come into this year's opener prepared with the best piece we can. Coming in with a different car obviously comes with some challenges and some things to learn but we really like Sunset Speedway and have had some great speed there the last couple years.”
With the first stop on the APC United Late Model Series being at Sunset Speedway later this month this 100 lap event will set the team up for success. Sheridan shares “There’s no better way to practice than a real racing scenario and this is a perfect situation to get me and the entire team back into routine and learn how our car this year will react with the new tire and with our updates.”
Being a two-time APC United Late Model Series winner Sheridan has seen success at both his home track of Delaware Speedway and Sauble Speedway. The driver of the 52 Pro Late Model also has numerous wins outside of the series at different speedways across Ontario. A few different facilities have Jake excited “We always bring some confidence home with us for the Delaware Races but we’ve built a lot of speed on the road these last couple years. We’re equally as excited to roll into Peterborough in June. Those tracks seem to really suit my style and the fast tight racing is really exciting for a driver. We have also had some great runs at Sunset and we’re really excited to try some of our new things there. The side by side racing there with the tire fall off, has put on some great racing recently.”
Sheridan and his team are geared up and ready for this upcoming weekend in their 52 Pro Late Model and you can keep up to what Jake is doing this year through his Instagram @JakeSheridan_52.
