Jackson Boone Seeking First Southern Super Series Win in Georgia

Each of the last two ASA Southern Super Series races have ended in near misses for Jackson Boone. The Fat Head Racing driver was leading at Nashville in July when mechanical gremlins cost them a victory just a handful of laps from the finish. A few weeks later, Boone rebounded with a strong-third place finish at Five Flags Speedway (FL). Boone is now looking to end the year strong on the coattails of this momentum.

“We have been running really well this year,” said Boone. “I really have to give credit to my (Fat Head Racing) team for putting fast race cars together each weekend. We talked about this last week and we haven’t been any track this year where we haven’t run with the leaders on in the top five during the race.”

Boone runs both Super and Pro Late Model events and has logged some wins this year on the Pro Late Model side with the team still seeking that first Super Late Model win. Boone has three second-place runs in the Southern Super Series, but he’s still waiting for that first win.

The next stop for the ASA Southern Super Series is not the best backdrop for Boone who has had limited success at Crisp Motorsports Park (GA). His description of the Cordele track came with a positive outlook on what he calls his toughest track.

“We really took something away from Pensacola and that is knowing that you don’t have to take big swings at the car if you are in the ball park,” added Boone. “If you are running fourth, fifth or sixth in a race then you are in a position to contend for the win. Watermelon Capital is not my best track, but if I can put us in a position to be with the leaders then we can get a good finish or even better maybe contend for the win.”

While a victory would be huge, the youngster is amped up for the rest of the season that includes a pair of races at Five Flags Speedway (FL) and the non-points All American 400 at his home track, the Nashville Fairground Speedway.

“I’d be lying if I didn’t have that race circled on my calendar,” admitted Boone. “It’s been in the back of my mind since the day we blew the radiator hose off in the July race. I can’t hype myself up too much for that one, it’s a long race and we have a few more races before we get there. Hopefully we can get some wins.”

The next ASA Southern Super Series race will be on Saturday, August 19th as the series heads to Watermelon Capital Speedway at Crisp Motorsports Park (GA). The Georgia Summer Nationals will be a 125-lap race for the Southeast Super Late Model Series. Local divisions will be racing including the track Pro Late Models.
