SpeedFest 2023 kicks off Friday from Watermelon Capital Speedway at Crisp Motorsports Park. Here are statistics of note and storylines to follow going into this weekend's event in Cordele, Georgia.

- Bubba Pollard is a three-time SpeedFest Super Late Model Pole sitter. Pollard has won the pole every other year and is due to be on top this year if the pattern repeats.

- Chase Elliott makes his return to SpeedFest having won six races between Pro and Super Late Model. Elliott has won his last two starts and led 170 laps in events at Watermelon Capital Speedway.

- Elliott is not the only name from the NASCAR ranks at SpeedFest as his Hendrick Motorsports teammate. William Byron will also take on the SpeedFest event. Two-Time SpeedFest pole sitter Johnny Sauter will also be racing this weekend.

- This will be the 18th running of the SpeedFest Super Late Model event. Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch each have three wins in this event. The Pro Late Model race started in 2009, and this will be the 14th running.

- Another return is that of William Sawalich, who was sidelined last season after an incident in the All American 400. Sawalich did finish third a few weeks back at the Red Eye 50 lapper. This Saturday event will be his first extra distance test since last season.

- The ASA/CRA Super Series and ASA Southern Super Series will go for 150 laps on Saturday with the JEGS All-Stars Pro Late Models having the undercard with a 100-lap race. Local classes will include Outlaws, Legends and Bandoleros.

- SpeedFest has long been a tradition in Georgia and the Georgia drivers have had their way there in recent years. Overall, Peach State drivers have logged a total of six wins in the Super Late Model race and six in the Pro Late Model race.

- Local Georgia driver and NASCAR Cup Series veteran David Ragan is also back behind the wheel this weekend at SpeedFest. He last ran Super Late Models at SpeedFest in 2015. He last ran Pro Late Models at SpeedFest when it was run at Lanier in 2011. In all, he has six top five runs in seven starts.
