Team Hornaday Development has announced that Hudson Bulger, the 16-year-old Fort Valley, Georgia native, will compete full-time in the zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model season in 2024.
Bulger will pilot the No. 17 Hamke Pro Late Model for Hudson Bulger Racing. The young driver brings an experienced crew with him to the 2024 season, with Chris Dilbeck as his spotter and Brett Ragan as his crew chief.
“As someone who has been at the highest levels of racing, it's very gratifying to be able to play a small part in helping lay a foundation for a kid climbing the racing ladder. I'm just glad I can use some of my past experiences to help shorten Hudson's learning curve,” Ragan said. “The CARS Tour has a lot of hype & excitement around it right now. We are looking forward to being a part of that, as well as being able to run some new & different tracks, some of which I've never been to before in my racing background. We feel very privileged to be able to be a part of such professionally run series to continue Hudson's development."
The up-and-coming driver is carrying positive momentum into this year following his successful 2023 season. Bugler captured several Pro Late Model wins at Crisp Motorsports Park, finishing second in the championship points standings. He then earned the Montgomery Motor Speedway ‘Sunoco Rookie of the Year’ award in the Show Me The Money Series.
Bulger hopes to expand upon that success in the upcoming zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model season with his team of sponsors. The sponsors continuing to support his success on and off the track includes Can-Am, Byron Outdoor Superstore, Hamby Chevrolet, Antler Extreme, Morris Bank, Coldwell Banker Free Reality and XPS Lubricants.
Bulger said he’s looking forward to his 2024 campaign and is eager to take on the competition.
“I’ve never been to a CARS Tour race so it will definitely be an experience in itself,” Bulger said. “I’m excited about the amount of television time and car count, which comes with a very competitive field of cars. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish in 2024.”
Team Hornaday’s youngest driver also plans to compete in Late Model Stock Cars and Super Late Models during the 2024 season.
