Salem, IN (August 31, 2022) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will resume their 26th Anniversary Season Presented by Team Construction this Sunday as part of the traditional Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival on the historic High Banks of Winchester Speedway, located in Winchester, Indiana. The Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival will be a huge weekend of stock car racing featuring the ARCA/CRA Super Series, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, the Vore’s Compact Touring Series, the Midwest Modifieds, the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks Powered by JEGS, the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Powered by JEGS, Thunder Roadsters and for the first time ever Ford Crown Vics.

Sunday’s event will be the ninth points event of the season for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. The series started its 2022 points season at Anderson Speedway on April 9th where Eddie Van Meter got the win. Casey Roderick won the second event of the season on April 24th at Salem Speedway. NASCAR Cup Series competitor William Byron picked up his first ever CRA win in the series’ third event of the season at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on May 7th. Kyle Crump got the win in the series’ fourth event of the season at Jennerstown Speedway on June 4th. Crump picked up his second series victory of the season at the series event on June 18th at Flat Rock Speedway. Sammy Smith won the Greg Hubler Automotive Group Redbud 400 on July 16th at Anderson Speedway and won the series’ last event at North Wilkesboro Speedway on August 13th with the Racetrack Revival in an event Co-sanctioned by the Southern Super Series.

Eddie Van Meter comes into Sunday’s event as the current series Championship points leader and was the series Regular Season Champion after the event at IRP, locking the Indianapolis native into the final Chase for the Championship group of racers to race for the series Championship at Winchester Speedway in the 51st Winchester 400 on Sunday, October 16th. Albert Francis and leading series rookie Billy Van Meter, son of Eddie, are the only other drivers eligible for the Chase for the Championship. Those three drivers will compete for the series Championship, as long as they compete in each of the series Chase events leading up to the Championship event. The three Chase for the Championship drivers top the list of entries for Sunday’s Victory Custom Trailers 100 Presented by Factory Canopies.

Other CRA drivers entered includes former event winners Tommy St. John and Rick Turner, the series all-time starts leader. Also entered are Salem winner Casey Roderick, former ARCA/CRA Super Series Kalamazoo Speedway event winner Ali Kern Dukeshire, series rookie Cassten Everidge, Texas racer Logan Bearden, 2021 Winchester Speedway JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event winner Jon Beach, Jaren Crabtree, Brandon Varney, Evan Varney and Jordon Miller.

Minnesota native William Sawalich is entered to make his Super Late Model debut on the High Banks of Winchester Speedway on Sunday. Sawalich is coming off his fourth straight CARS Pro Late Model Tour win this past Saturday at Motor Mile Speedway and his fifth total with that series. Sawalich picked up his first Super Late Model victory with the Southern Super Series on July 23rd, a week after he finished second to his teammate Sammy Smith in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Redbud 400 on July 16th.

Florida native Michael Hinde is also entered for Sunday’s event to make his Super Late Model Winchester Speedway debut in Sunday’s Winchester 400 tune-up event. Hinde won the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour SpeedFest 2022 season opening event at Watermelon Capital Speedway on January 29th. Hinde is currently fifth in Southern Super Series points.

The Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival at Winchester Speedway starts with an optional move-in and optional open practice this Friday. Pits open at 3pm. Open practice will begin at 6pm. There will be a full race program for Ford Crown Vics on Friday starting at 8pm.

Pits open on Saturday at 10am. There will be two open practice sessions a piece for the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Midwest Modifieds, Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, and the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks on Saturday. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, Vore’s Compact Touring Series and Thunder Roadsters practice, qualify and race their features on Saturday. Practice begins at 1pm, qualifying begins at 5:45pm. The race program will start at 7pm with Thunder Roadster 8 lap heat races, then the Vore’s Compact Touring Series D&J Sales B4 Miniseries 20 lap Championship event, followed by the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 100 lap feature, the 20 lap Thunder Roadsters feature will be next, with the Vore’s Compact Touring Series Knapp Supply 30 lap feature closing out that day’s racing action.

Pits open on Sunday, September 4th at 11am. Practice for the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Midwest Modifieds, Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman, and the Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks will begin at 1pm. Qualifying begins at 4pm. Sunday’s racing program will begin at 6pm with the 40 lap Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman feature, followed by the Midwest Modifieds 40 lap feature, the Victory Custom Trailers 100 Presented by Factory Canopies for the ARCA/CRA Super Series will be next, with the 40 lap Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks feature closing out the weekends racing action.
