During Labor Day weekend, most of the Northwest's Speedways take the weekend off for the last weekend of summer. For the Hermiston Raceway, the facility will become the Northwest's Racing Capital.
"We feel that this area has the sunshine and warm temperatures, so why not put together a great two-day show," says project manager Greg Walden. The event will attract over 120 different race teams from the Northwest between the two days, filling up the hotels and restaurants in Hermiston. "The economic impact to the Hermiston area will be well over $400,000,” said Walden.
Over $80,000 in awards will be paid out between the two nights of racing.

NWSLMS Points leader Kaiden Anderson from Yakima looks to defend his June 18 PCA 125 win.
"After the PCA 125, I’m looking forward to the event! I’m excited and I hope to double down for the 4th. Either way I want to bring the car home in one piece and just continue to build on the points lead!” replied Anderson.
Trevor Cristiani, fresh off his win at Findlay Stadium in the Liberty Launch 125 in Post Falls, Idaho, and teammate Nick Gibson from Nampa, Idaho - P2 in point standings for the NWSLMS Championship will be pulling TRIPLE duty, running Saturday's Bettarel Pro Late 75 and Speed Tour Modified 65, and the Northwest Super Late Model Atomic 125 event on Sunday.
"I really like the group of people, the atmosphere and the promoters more than I actually like the track if I am being completely honest." laughed Crisitani. "it’s a tough track to get a hold of but you really have to do a good job at saving your equipment to make a run at the end."
Nick Gibson added, "Hermiston is going to be bad to the bone! There are some great cars entered in all classes and it's going to be some really good racing. I'm excited to see where we end up at the end of the weekend!"
