Late Models Ready to Show-Off on Foley Oil & Propane Night with $1,000 Bonus on the Line

Although a bright morning cast a hopeful glimpse for Friday’s weekly racing opener at Thunder Road, forecasts continue to indicate a five-hour window of unstable weather starting anytime after 4:00pm across the Barre/Montpelier area. With that forecast holding steady over the last several days, and with a touring series as part of Friday’s planned event, Thunder Road officials have made the difficult decision to postpone McGee Hyundai of Barre Night to Friday, September 6. There will be no racing on Friday, June 7 at Thunder Road.
“It’s hard to look at a beautiful morning like this and imagine that thunder-showers are coming, but that’s what radar forecasts across various outlets have been pointing to the last three days,” said Thunder Road managing partner Cris Michaud. “With the NESS Supermodifieds having to make a three-or-four hour drive, we wanted to save them a wasted trip for an evening of sitting in the rain and we look forward to having them in September.”
The McGee Hyundai of Barre Friday Night Special is on for Friday, September 6 at the Nation’s Site of Excitement, Barre’s Thunder Road.
Iconic Thursday night weekly racing returns to Thunder Road International Speedbowl next Thursday, June 13 with Casella Waste Management Night! As the first Thursday of the season on the Barre highbanks, the New England Antique Racers (NEAR) return to offer the nostalgia of yesteryear in celebration of Thunder Road’s 65th season of stock car racing alongside the Maplefields/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and the rk Miles Street Stocks. The 10th annual Marvin Johnson Memorial Non-Winners Race for the Street Stocks will also take place on Casella Waste Management Night to add to the championship action! Grandstands open on Thursday at 4:15pm with Post Time set for 7:00pm.
