Five Star Race Car Bodies has promoted Chris Wiess to Business Manager, Pavement Short Track Racing, expanding his leadership role within the company and across the short track racing industry.

Wiess joined Five Star in 2019 and has become a trusted resource for racers, teams, dealers, tracks and sanctioning bodies throughout the country.

In his new role, Wiess will lead Five Star’s pavement short track racing efforts, with a continued focus on strengthening customer and dealer relationships, supporting market growth and representing Five Star throughout the racing community.

Wiess will provide leadership across Five Star’s pavement racing business while coordinating efforts between Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Marketing and Operations. His responsibilities will include leadership of Five Star’s Authorized Dealer strategy, Racing Contingency Award Sponsor Program, race-event planning and industry partnerships, along with continued representation on the ABC Body Committee.

The promotion recognizes Wiess’s continued growth within Five Star and the significant role he has already taken on within the pavement racing market. In 2024, he was named the inaugural recipient of the Jeff Sandlin Legacy Award during Snowball Derby Week, recognizing excellence in sales, customer service, technical support and contributions to short track racing.

“Chris has earned an incredible amount of respect throughout the racing industry,” said Five Star Co-CEO Corey Schultz. “He understands our customers, he understands the sport, and he genuinely cares about helping people succeed. This advancement recognizes what Chris has already brought to Five Star while giving him an even greater opportunity to help lead the future of our pavement racing business.”

Schultz added, “Chris has built relationships across the industry by being present, listening to customers and following through. He has become an important part of Five Star and an important resource for the racing community, and we’re excited to see him continue to grow in this role.”

“I’m grateful to the entire Schultz family and everyone at Five Star for the trust they have placed in me,” Wiess said. “I’ve been fortunate to build a lot of great relationships in this sport, and I’m excited to continue working with racers, teams, dealers and tracks while helping Five Star grow and strengthen the markets we serve.”

Wiess will continue to represent Five Star at races, dealer visits, industry meetings, trade shows and other short track racing events throughout the year. As Five Star continues investing in new products, expanded customer support and the future of pavement racing, he will play a key role in strengthening partnerships with racers, dealers and sanctioning bodies throughout North America.
