Fetcho, the 2020 and 2022 Pro Late Model Champion at the Nashville Fairgrounds, dominated the 2023 season opener Saturday night, leading flag-to-flag to claim the victory.

Fetcho has not had the start to the season he hoped for, with DNFs at both the Alabama 200 and the Baby Rattler 125 following a fith-place finish in the SpeedFest Pro Late Model 100.

However, Fetcho settled in nicely in his return to home turf, leading all 119 laps of the Pro Late Model feature celebrating the 119th year of racing at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.

“We definitely had a good year last year,” said Fetcho. “This year didn’t start off too good at other tracks, but I was happy to be home and the car was super good tonight.”

The win also carried extra sentimental value, as Fetcho dedicated the win to Kevin Huffines while speaking to the crowd from victory lane.

“I want to say thank you to Kevin Huffines. He just lost his wife recently. He was up there spotting for me, and I really appreciate all his help. He also lets me drive his Legends car and he’s a big part of this program.”

2023 Kulwicki Driver Development Program Semifinalist Hunter Wright finished second, with Bryson Shaffer coming home third. The Rackley WAR duo of Dawson Sutton and Carson Brown rounded out the top five.

The Pro Late Models will be back in action in two weeks at Nashville, competing on April 15 as part of the INEX US Legends Spring Nationals weekend. Legends and Bandoleros will race on both Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15 at Nashville, with the Super Trucks joining the Pro Late Models for Saturday’s program.
