In a battle between two of the best in Super Late Model racing, Cole Butcher outdueled Ty Majeski to win Sunday's El Bandido Yankee Tequila 300 presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch at Slinger Super Speedway.

Butcher, making his first appearance at the Wisconsin high-banked quarter-mile, went to battle in the closing laps with Majeski, a three-time Slinger Nationals winner. After several door-to-door battles, Butcher cleared Majeski for the lead on a restart with seven laps to go to secure the victory in the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour event.

"I just can't thank Ty [Majeski] for racing me hard but racing me clean," said Butcher in victory lane. "I can't thank everybody at Wilson Motorsports. You're right, Friday was not what we planned. We turned it around today.

"I wish my baby boy was here for my first Father's Day, but I know he's at home with his grandmother and my wife. I love you, Brody, and happy Father's Day to my dad at home, too, and my father-in-law."

After qualifying on the pole, Majeski took on a $5,000 bounty to start at the rear of the field and try to win the 300-lap race. He won the second stage and put himself solidly in contention for the win, leading to the late-race battle between the two winningest ASA STARS National Tour drivers.

"I didn't know which lane to take [on the restart]," said Butcher. "I knew Ty was gonna do everything he could to beat me in front of his home crowd. We'll look forward to Pensacola."

Majeski settled for a second-place finish, which he still hopes will be a sign of things to come. The Wisconsin native has not enjoyed his usual levels of success in the first half of the 2025 season in either Late Model competition or the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, something he hopes to change in the summer months and beyond.

"I just got a little bit swingy with the back," said Majeski. "Just a great race with how my season has gone. That was a great race, that was an instant classic. Using each other up, but within reason. That's what short-track racing is supposed to be right there.

"Congrats to the 28 guys. They had a great car tonight, they really did. Happy to be up here on the podium. It's been a rough, rough year for me, so hopefully this is a sign to get things going on this side and, of course, on the Craftsman Truck Series side. Just one spot short of that five grand."

While the bounty and a big win were on the line, Majeski admitted he didn't want to cross the line for the victory on Sunday night.

"I wanted the lead, but I wasn't gonna do it real dirty," he said. "I was using him up a little bit in one and two and trying to get position on him. He was able to hold me tight and get good runs on the outside. Honestly, we just got beat tonight. Those Donnie Wison guys and that 28 group, they're top notch."

Stephen Nasse rounded out the podium, giving him a pair of top-five finishes during the Wisconsin Father's Day weekend doubleheader. Nasse has five top-five finishes in the first seven events this year with the ASA STARS National Tour.

He enjoyed the trip north to Wisconsin, always excited to race in front of his fans in the Midwest.

"You know, over the few years that I've been coming out here, I've been able to make really good relationships with a lot of people," said Nasse. "I'm super fortunate, you fans are some of the best out there. I tried to sneak up there and give somebody the bumper. I just didn't quite have enough for those two.

"It was just really good racing. Anthony Campi brought me a good car, and I was hoping to get one for my dad for Father's Day there. You know, congrats to Cole and Ty there on their good runs."

Derek Kraus finished fourth, with Gavan Boschele crossing the line fifth. Chase Pinsonneault, Dawson Sutton, Justin Mondeik, Kasey Kleyn and Derek Thorn rounded out the top 10.

The next ASA STARS National Tour event is the Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, July 26.
