The Show Me The Money Series and Rogers-Dabbs Southern Pro Series came to a dramatic conclusion on Saturday night at Montgomery Motor Speedway. Kulwicki Driver Development Program finalist Seth Christensen outdueled Luke Yarbrough in the closing laps for the win, while Dustin Smith was crowned Southern Pro Series champion and Jim Wall took home the Show Me The Money title.
Christensen battled door-to-door with Yarbrough in the final laps before pulling ahead with three laps to go. The Georgia native is now a two-time race winner in Montgomery's Show Me The Money Series, backing up his breakthrough win in the 2023 Alabama 200.
"First of all, I've got to thank the Emma Britt Racing team for letting me come and have some fun this weekend. To be able to score some good points for the Kulwicki Driver Development Programs is super, super cool.
"We've had really good competition points this year. We'll go get another one."
Meanwhile, it was a bittersweet feeling for Yarbrough. In his first trip to Montgomery in nearly two full years, he was in contention for the win. He settled for second after the late-race duel with Christensen.
"It's been about two years since I've been at this track, and never been in this car before yesterday," said Yarbrough. "I had a lot to catch up on in a little bit of time. About a quarter of the way into the race, I figured it out. It was looking real good for a second there, but Seth just got the best of me there."
Meanwhile, the night crowned two champions. First, Dustin Smith's fifth-place finish earned him the Rogers-Dabbs Southern Pro Series title. The Southern Pro Series featured eight Pro Late Model races held at Montgomery, Five Flags Speedway, Mobile International Speedway and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
Smith joins John Bolen as series champions, as Bolen won the inaugural title in 2024. The accomplishment also comes in a year when Smith won the track championship for Pro Late Models at Mobile.
"It's definitely a good season for us," said Smith. "We won a championship at Mobile, and now this. Rogers-Dabbs does a lot for the racers around here, short track racers. If y'all need a 604 motor, y'all know who to call."
While he salvaged a top-five finish, there was plenty of adversity for Smith in Saturday's race.
"We had a good car tonight. Lost power steering there, like, lap five. I fought the whole time trying to hang on. Then, we lost brakes. Got the brakes back, but not the power steering."
Jim Wall finished eighth to wrap up the 2025 Show Me The Money Series title. He was also in contention for the win, taking the lead on the 36th lap of the race. However, contact with Bolen on two separate occasions in the closing laps first took him out of the lead, then sent him to pit road.
"It's been a long year. We've had a lot of ups and downs," said Wall. "Our team, they worked so dadgum hard. This race tonight was ours to win. The same guy that's wrecked us and drove us like s--- all year did it tonight, too."
Despite his disappointment with missing out on what would have been his first Pro Late Model win, Wall celebrated the Show Me the Money title.
"It's all good. We got the championship. We're glad about that. We wish we could have capped it off with a win. Our old buddy Roger Bates passed away mid-season. We really miss him. This means a lot to us."
Garrett Gumm finished third in Saturday's race. Jared Maupin, who won the Modifieds of Mayhem feature Saturday at Montgomery, finished fourth in the Show Me the Money feature.
