It was a familiar sight in the Show Me the Money Series portion of Saturday's Rumble by the River at Montgomery Motor Speedway - Casey Roderick in victory lane.

The two-time series champion scored his 14th career Show Me the Money victory, leading from flag to flag in the 100-lap Pro Late Model contest. While he doesn't race at the Alabama half-mile as frequently as he once did, he has now won in back-to-back appearances there after taking the checkered flag in last year's Alabama 200.

"It feels good to be back here at Montgomery and get another win," said Roderick. "This track's always been really good to me, even back when I was running for the Grahams and Ronnie Sanders. I always ran good here. That was back when we ran Augie Grill cars. Won a lot here.

"I can't thank these guys enough for everything they've done. They work hard on these things. Everyone in this pit area knows how hard it is to come to these races these days. It feels good to just get a win."

While Roderick led all 100 laps, he feared he pushed too hard during the first half of the race and didn't save enough for the fight to the finish. Those worries started to crystallize late in the race as Dylan Fetcho closed in.

However, Fetcho was unable to completely close the gap, and Roderick held on for the win.

"I didn't think I was running that hard the first part of the race," said Roderick. "I was worried I ran a little too hard. He put up a fight there at the end, I was worried he was going to get me. I started getting pretty free in and free off. I just tried to keep it on the bottom and keep it underneath me, and held him off for the checkered flag."

Fetcho, piloting the No. 2 Bolen Racing entry, took solace in finishing second to one of the best at Montgomery. However, he couldn't help but wish he could have finished one spot better.

"I think everybody knows Casey's probably one of the best drivers out here," said Fetcho. "I'm glad to run second to him, but second sucks. Second does suck.

"The Bolens brought me an awesome car, you know. They've won down here a bunch this year already. I just can't thank them enough. Every person that's standing right here, I can't thank them enough."

Garrett Gumm finished third, but it was not without adversity of his own. He was one of several drivers collected in a multi-car melee just past the halfway mark of the event.

Gumm was able to carry on from that incident, and soldiered on to a podium finish.

"From where we were in the middle of that wreck, I wouldn't have told you we'd finish third," said Gumm. "Great job to our guys. They brought a fast race car. Sadly, ended up in a wreck in the first bit, but overall, a good finish."

Jim Wall finished fourth, with Presley Johnson rounding out the top five.

The Show Me the Money Series returns to action on July 5 at Montgomery Motor Speedway. The Street Stocks, Late Model Sportsman and Crown Stocks will also be part of the Independence Celebration.
