Colin Allman Breaks Through for First UARA National Win in Bigley Memorial Tune-Up
May 25, 2025
Daniel Harding has already left his mark on the record books at Wiscasset Speedway during his young career. The 15-year-old driver wrote another chapter on Sunday, winning the Coastal 200 at the Maine facility.
Harding moved into the top spot with 45 laps to go in the $15,000-to-win event and held on for the victory on a restart with just four laps remaining.
Previously, Harding was both the youngest feature winner and youngest division track champion in Wiscasset Speedway's history. Now, he is also the youngest winner in the history of the Coastal 200.
While the late caution for an incident involving DC Alexander and Chris Burgess created some tension, Harding knew he had the car to beat on the decisive restart.
"First problem was with the front of the car," said Harding. "That made me nervous. I just knew I had to go as fast as I possibly can, don't let anybody push me around. That's what I did and I won.
"I've got to thank Max Cookson Racing, NAPA Auto Care, Marshall's, all these guys that help. This is amazing. I can't even speak."
Tiger Colby finished second, winning out in a fierce battle for the runner-up spot in the closing laps.
"I had a fun time," said Colby. "This was probably the best 200 I've ever an in. That last restart, we set this car up a little too tight, and it kind of screwed me. Congratulations to Daniel. He did a good job. I'm happy with the second place finish."
Meanwhile, 2015 Coastal 200 winner Dave Farrington, Jr. finished third. While Harding represented the youth in the field, Farrington leaned on his veteran experience to charge from 24th on the starting grid to a podium finish.
"We've been racing in these races a long time," said Farrington. "We won it 10 years ago. The first thing you've got to do to win these races is finish. We obviously had ourselves in a deep hole there. Bad draw in the heat race, bad heat race, started 24th. Maybe there'll be a Hard Charger award or something, 24th to third, we're pretty happy about that.
"We weren't even a thought to be here earlier today. We were 19th on the speed charts in final practice, but here we are."
Jonathan Emerson finished fourth, with two-time Coastal 200 winner Mike Hopkins finishing fifth. Hopkins was in pursuit of a third consecutive win in the event after taking the checkered flag in 2023 and 2024.
