A pair of champions will be crowned Saturday night at Five Flags Speedway during their Night of Champions. Included in the night’s proceedings will be the finale for the Allen Turner Pro Late MOdel Series. Here are 10 Things to Know about the Pro Late Model portion of the evening.
– Jake Garcia has two wins this year in the Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series. Matt Craig also has a win. Garcia is a former winner of the Allen Turner Tune-Up having won in 2019.
– Returning to the driver’s seat for the first time in two years at Five Flags Speedway will be Molly Helmuth. She has been working for Bubba Pollard with his marketing since last season and Pollard helped put the deal together for Helmuth to race this weekend.
– This will be the 14th running of the Allen Turner Tune-up 100 for the Pro Late Models. Last year, Connor Okrzesik won the race to become the ninth different winner in the event. Bubba Pollard and Mike Garvey each have three wins in this race.
– The Saturday night Pro Late Model finale will be a 100-lap race to decide the championship in the Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series.
– Points-wise it’s a close battle with Connor Okrzesik leading 2020 track champion Chris Davison by just five points. Right in the mix just six points back is John Bolen, who has really returned to form again at Five Flags Speedway.
– The points are very important all the way back through the top 10, as provisional spots will be awarded based on them in December at the Allen Turner Snowflake 100. The top two highest drivers in points who don’t make the Snowflake on time can make the show. Right now, there is a four way tie for 10th place in the standings.
– Charlie Keeven has been a bright spot this year in the Pro Late Model series. He posted a third-place finish in April. He followed that up with a fourth in the second race of the season. His success should help him build momentum going into this race and the Snowflake, where he was a DNQ last year. He could be all but locked into the show with a good finish.
– Several drivers are attempting double-duty this Saturday, running both the Blizzard Series finale as well as the Allen Turner Pro Late Model feature. Drivers pre-entered for both races include John Bolen, Chris Davidson, John DeAngelis, Jett Noland and Connor Okrzesik.
– Fans can watch all the action live on Speed51.TV for the Pay Per View Broadcast of the Allen Turner Pro Late Model and Blizzard Series finale.
– If you are looking for a driver on a hot streak then look at Jett Noland. He rode the Anthony Campi Racing machine to victory lane last week at Montgomery Motor Speedway in the Show Me The Money Series.
