- The World Series will consist of nearly 40 races over nine nights of action at New Smyrna Speedway. The World Series has been going on since 1968, with the Tour-Type Modifieds coming on board in 1976. The combination has been an amazing February tradition for race fans.

- The Christopher name returns to New Smyrna after Ted Christopher passed away in 2017. Both Ted and his brother Mike were proven winners and now Mike’s son Mike Christopher Jr. will have a lot of fans to root him on in his first New Smyrna start.

- The Super Late Models will go for 100 laps twice with the Clyde Hart Memorial on Monday night and the Orange Blossom 100 on the final night of racing. These 100-lap races will draw cars from all across the south.

- After years of wishing, Modified fans finally have gotten what they asked for. More than 30 Modifieds will be on hand for the first ever NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at New Smyrna Speedway. The 200-lap race will kick off the 2022 season with the best names from Justin Bonsignore, Matt Hirschman, Ryan Preece, Patrick Emerling and many others. The tour entry list is at 31 cars, and the World Series races that start on the 14th at Smyrna have 50 entries.

- While new faces have emerged in the Tour-Type Modifieds, the legacy of some names just keeps growing. Matt Hirschman has won three of the last four points titles, with Chuck Hossfeld getting his second in-between the mix of the Hirschman titles. Now with double digit wins, Hirschman is leaving his mark on Speedweeks like the rest of the Modified world. One can only imagine if he had nine nights to race what his win total would be. Regardless, Hirschman will be seeking his sixth Richie Evans Memorial win as well.

- This will be the second year of the 602 Modifieds at New Smyrna. This is, in some ways, a replacement of the SK Modifieds that went away a few years back with a low car count. The SK’s had their own features at one point much like the 602’s who have 25 entries.

- We change the tune in the Super Late Model division from a string of different winners to, "Can Derek Griffith win three-straight Super Late Model titles?" It’s not been done since Pete Orr in the 1990s. Griffith had three wins a year ago and ended a 19-year streak without back-to-back winners.

- The Florida Modifieds have long been a part of the World Series and the crafty veterans like Jerry Symons have won nearly 50 races and six World Series titles in the division. In recent years, the mix of locals and out of towners have created some great racing moments.

- The Pro Late Models head into 2020 with 15 years under their belts and 15 different champions along the way. The Pro Late Models have been one of the most wide open divisions ever since they started in 2006. There have been 53 different winners in the 97 races and this division will run its 100th race during this speedweeks.
