More than 30 entries are confirmed for this week's DIRTcar South of the Border Showdown at Lake View Motor Speedway.

The second annual edition of the event will feature three nights of racing for DIRTcar's Sportsman Modifieds, with more than $27,000 being paid out across the three evenings. Thursday's 25-lap main event will pay $1,000 to win, with Friday paying $2,000 to win a 35-lap feature and the event concluding with a 50-lap, $3,000 to win feature.

Nick Guerreri and Andrew Buff split wins during two nights of the inaugural South of the Border Showdown in 2021. Andrew Buff leads the contingent of drivers taking part in this year's event. Following his Lake View win last year, Buff went on to claim the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Weekly Championship, scoring wins at Glen Ridge Motor Speedway, Fulton Speedway, and Albany-Saratoga Speedway.

Buff narrowly edged out Cameron Tuttle and Zach Sobotka for that distinction. Sobotka will be another driver making the trip to South Carolina for the South of the Border Showdown.

While Andrew Buff was a winner in last year's Showdown, brother Justin Buff claimed podium finishes in both features during the 2021 event. They will also be joined by Zach Buff in a three-car family effort.

AJay Potrzebowski, Jr. will be another driver to watch this weekend at Lake View, as he claimed the Hoosier Sportsman track championship at Outlaw Speedway (NY) in 2021. He scored a top-five finish on the first night of the 2021 South of the Border Showdown.

Other DIRTcar Sportsman Modified feature winners from the 2021 season entered for the South of the Border Showdown include Jim Nagle, Richard Murtaugh, Bentley Gray, Brendan Gibbons, Brian Calabrese, David Boisclair, Jake Mason, Jamie Begor, and Robert Delormier.
